Stilbite – Pandulane, India

A substantial and attractive stilbite specimen from Pandulane, India, featuring a dramatic cluster of large cream-white to pale peach "bow-tie" crystals. 

The specimen displays broad, bladed stilbite crystals arranged in an intergrown cluster, with prominent longitudinal striations and a soft pearly to vitreous luster. Several of the crystals are particularly large and well developed, giving the specimen excellent dimensionality and display presence.

Stilbite is a member of the zeolite group and is especially well known from the basalt deposits of India, which have produced some of the world's finest and largest crystallized examples of the species.
