An interesting fluorapatite and smoky quartz association from Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, one of Canada's most celebrated mineral localities. A distinct mineralized vein cuts across the pale nepheline syenite host rock, creating an excellent natural cross-section of the mineralization. Within the vein, fluorapatite occurs alongside smoky quartz, with the darker crystals standing out clearly against the contrasting light-coloured matrix. The specimen is particularly appealing as a geological example, showing the relationship between the crystallized vein material and the surrounding host rock. A representative specimen from Mont Saint-Hilaire, a locality internationally renowned for its remarkable mineral diversity and unusual mineral assemblages.
