An attractive smithsonite specimen from Sierra Mojada, Coahuila, Mexico, a classic Mexican locality known for producing collectible lead minerals.
This piece features pale white to very light bluish-gray smithsonite with a smooth, rounded botryoidal form and softly lustrous surface (sometimes described as "turkey fat"!). Subtle pink tones visible around portions of the specimen provide an appealing contrast and add visual interest. Changes to a pleasing yellow when exposed to short wave ultraviolet light.
