This scheelite mineral specimen from Mount Xuebaoding, Pingwu County, Sichuan, China features honey-orange to amber crystals on a contrasting pale matrix. Well-developed crystal faces and excellent luster give it a distinctive display presence for mineral collectors. From the Rob Belcher Collection, it combines a documented collection history with an identifiable Chinese locality.
Mount Xuebaoding is internationally celebrated for producing some of the world's finest scheelite specimens, particularly highly lustrous and beautifully coloured crystals with sharp tetragonal development. This colourful example is an excellent representative of the quality and distinctive aesthetics for which the locality has become famous.
