Scheelite - Mt Xuebaoping, Pingwu, Sichuan, China

A striking scheelite specimen from the renowned Mount Xuebaoding mining district in Sichuan Province, China. The piece features a prominent grouping of richly coloured honey-orange to amber scheelite crystals dramatically positioned against a contrasting pale matrix.
The scheelite displays excellent luster and well-developed crystal faces, with the intense warm coloration giving the specimen considerable visual impact. The largest crystals form an attractive arrangement along the upper portion of the matrix, creating a strong display profile from several viewing angles.
Mount Xuebaoding is internationally celebrated for producing some of the world's finest scheelite specimens, particularly highly lustrous and beautifully coloured crystals with sharp tetragonal development. This colourful example is an excellent representative of the quality and distinctive aesthetics for which the locality has become famous.
