An impressive quartz crystal cluster from the near Norman, Montgomery County, Arkansas, USA.
This substantial specimen is densely covered with dozens of clear to translucent quartz points, ranging from delicate needle-like crystals to several commanding larger crystals. Clusters like these are often called "Jackpot Quartz" when they are first unearthed. There are many sharp terminations with vitreous luster which catches and reflects light from virtually every angle. My wife thinks this specimen looks like a crystal forest! Admittedly it would be an adventure to shrink down and walk amongst the crystals in this forest! A fun specimen!
