An attractive peridot crystal with ludwigite inclusions from Sapat Gali, Pakistan, one of the world's best localities for this mineral. Peridot is the gem variety of olivine (specifically forsterite) and ludwigite is a rare magnesium borate.
The specimen displays a vividyellow-green to bright green color with good translucency and a bright vitreous luster. Within the peridot are naturally occurring dark-coloured ludwigite inclusions, adding mineralogical interest and distinguishing the specimen from more typical gem peridot crystals.
Weighing 7 g, the crystal has strong color and an appealing natural form. The combination of vibrant peridot, unusual ludwigite inclusions and the collectible Sapat Gali locality makes this a particularly interesting specimen for collectors of gem minerals and included crystals.
