An attractive mimetite specimen from the world-famous Tsumeb Mine, Namibia, featuring numerous small cream to pale yellow crystals covering the matrix.
The mimetite forms sparkling, closely intergrown crystals with a vitreous to resinous luster and subtle yellow coloration. The dense crystal coverage gives the specimen an appealing textured surface and makes it a fine example of this lead arsenate mineral. This pretty little piece is mounted on an acrylic stand.
The Tsumeb Mine is one of the world's most celebrated mineral localities, renowned for an extraordinary diversity of mineral species and exceptionally crystallized secondary lead, copper and zinc minerals. Mimetite is among the classic collectible species found at Tsumeb.
