Azurite "Sun" - Malbunka Copper Mine, Northern Territory, Australia
Previously sold specimen — shown for reference
The Malbunka Copper Mine in Australia is the only (known) place in the world where azurite forms these beautiful circular "suns". The colour contrast with the kaolinite (clay) rich matrix makes for stunning specimens like this one. I have secured a nice lot of these from another dealer that was hoarding some older stock. This specimen is covered with several disk-like azurites, as singles and clusters. From Malbunka Copper Mine, Areyonga, Gardiner Range, Northern Territory, Australia.
