Calcite on Quartz, Guilin, Guanjxi, China

Mother Nature is truly an artist. Here we have two relatively common minerals but in a wonderful, eye-appealing combination. The calcite has a pleasing coffee colour with "nail-head" crystal terminations, which contrasts nicely with the white drusy quartz; itself in botryoidal masses.  Ex Steve Potvin collection.
