A distinctive Tsumeb specimen featuring sprays of azurite on massive digenite, accompanied by green malachite. Particularly interesting are areas where malachite has replaced earlier azurite while retaining its original crystal form, creating attractive pseudomorphs and adding another layer of mineralogical interest to the piece.
The combination of deep blue azurite, green malachite and dark metallic digenite produces excellent colour and textural contrast. This is a substantial hand-sized example of a classic Tsumeb mineral association that can be difficult to find in specimens of this size.
Ex Garry Kolodinsky Collection. Garry assembled a sizeable mineral collection over several decades and had a particular interest in azurite, including specimens from the world-famous Tsumeb Mine in Namibia.
