Azurite on Malachite, Blue Jay Claim, La Sal, San Juan County, Utah

An American classic: azurite from La Sal! This locality is famous for producing stunning rosettes of azurite. This specimen is covered with several small rosettes nicely contrasting with green malachite and white matrix. I think the malachite is also notable for its fibrous habit. I would like to shrink myself down and walk around on this fabulous landscape! It invites closer inspection and is incredible under magnification.
