An elegant aquamarine crystal from the renowned Shigar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, an important locality for fine pegmatite minerals.
This single crystal displays an attractive pale icy-blue color, strong transparency and bright vitreous luster. Its slender hexagonal form is particularly clean and well defined, with smooth prism faces and a flat termination. I absolutely love the whitish inclusion which takes on the appearance of a cotton ball on a stick (my daughter sees a tree!). Absolutely wonderful!
Standing 4.5 cm tall and weighing 14 g, this is a refined and highly displayable aquamarine. Its clarity, elegant crystal form and desirable Shigar Valley locality make it an appealing specimen for aquamarine collectors and collections of fine Pakistani minerals.
