A robust fossil dinosaur toe bone (phalanx) from the Alberta badlands, from a ceratopsian (horned dinosaur). The rugose—coarsely textured—surface help separate these from the slightly more common hadrosaur phalanges. Measuring 7 cm at its greatest dimension, this specimen offers an engaging example of dinosaur foot anatomy.
From the Harvey Negrich Collection, this fossil makes an appealing addition to a collection focused on Alberta’s prehistoric life. Harvey, a founding member of the Alberta Palaeontological Society, collected this piece decades ago. Note that the specimen has been repaired with adhesives but has not been restored in any way.
Legal Status: This specimen is legally available for private ownership and resale under Alberta Disposition Certificate #001590. A copy of the disposition documentation will accompany the specimen. Learn more about Alberta fossils and the disposition process.
