Attractive spessartine garnets on albite specimen from the Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Several well-formed reddish-brown spessartine crystals are prominently positioned on a contrasting white albite matrix.
The largest garnet displays a distinct, well-developed crystal form with vitreous luster and rich reddish-brown coloration, accompanied by two smaller spessartine crystals. The bright white, blocky albite provides excellent contrast and creates an appealing display specimen.
The Shigar Valley and surrounding areas of Gilgit-Baltistan are internationally known for exceptional pegmatite minerals, including garnets, tourmalines, aquamarine and other collectible crystal species.
