Scheelite with Wolframite - Tae Hwa Mine, Chungju, South Korea

An attractive scheelite with wolframite specimen from the Tae Hwa Mine in Chungju, South Korea. The piece is dominated by a prominent, well-formed scheelite crystal displaying warm honey-brown to golden-brown coloration, good lustre, and sharply defined crystal faces. Its elevated position on the contrasting pale matrix gives the crystal an especially strong display profile.
Black wolframite is also present, creating an interesting association of two important tungsten-bearing minerals on a single specimen. The dark wolframite provides additional contrast against both the golden scheelite and light-coloured matrix, while the compact, upright form allows the specimen to display particularly well.
The Tae Hwa Mine is a notable South Korean tungsten locality, and specimens combining crystallized scheelite and wolframite are of particular mineralogical interest. Mounted on a clear acrylic display base.
