A striking scalenohedral calcite specimen with associated pyrite from Anhui Province, China, featuring two large, sharply formed calcite crystals with attractive pale golden to honey coloration.
The specimen is dominated by elongated scalenohedral calcite crystals exhibiting the dramatic pointed habit often referred to by collectors as “dogtooth calcite.” The crystals show translucent areas, prominent crystal faces and a vitreous luster, while small pyrite inclusions or associations provide additional visual interest and metallic contrast.
The combination of impressive crystal size (with no tip damage), distinctive scalenohedral form and warm coloration makes this an attractive display specimen.
