An elegant quartz on hematite specimen from Jinlong Hill, Heyuan, Guangdong, China, featuring a striking arrangement of transparent, sharply terminated quartz crystals associated with dark platy hematite.
The specimen is dominated by an exceptionally slender, elongated quartz crystal projecting dramatically upward, accompanied by several smaller terminated crystals. Layered hematite blades form a dark metallic foundation and provide excellent contrast against the clarity and vitreous luster of the quartz.
Mounted on a clear acrylic base, the specimen displays particularly well from several angles. The combination of unusually elongated quartz, strong three-dimensional crystal arrangement, and contrasting hematite gives this small specimen considerably more visual presence than its size might suggest.
