A highly aesthetic quartz on hematite specimen from Jinlong Hill, Heyuan, Guangdong, China, featuring a dramatic association of transparent quartz crystals with dark, lustrous hematite.
A tall, sharply terminated quartz crystal dominates the composition, accompanied by several smaller clear to slightly smoky quartz crystals. The contrasting hematite forms a distinctive stacked, platy aggregate with a metallic to submetallic black luster, creating an excellent visual contrast against the transparent quartz.
Mounted on a clear acrylic base, the specimen has a particularly strong vertical presentation. The striking black-and-clear contrast, architectural crystal arrangement and recognizable Jinlong Hill locality give this piece the kind of visual impact that makes an excellent focal specimen even at miniature size.
