Pyrargyrite & Galena, Beaverdell, British Columbia, Canada

Ruby silver! The Beaverdell area, and in particular, the Highland Bell Mine, were rich in silver and silver-bearing minerals. Ruby silver, more properly, pyraryrite, was a key source of silver from the district. This terrific ore specimen displays zonation of massive pyrargyrite (slight reddish colour), galena and sphalerite within calcite speckled with pyrite.
