Fluorite, Cave-in-Rock district, Hardin County, Illinois

One of many nice Illinois fluorites recently acquired from an old collection, this piece shows the classic purple Cave-in-Rock is famous for. I like the interesting smoky colouration which adds interest to the purple too. Note the subtle colour-zoning near the crystal edges and the speckled appearance due to natural inclusions.
