Cerussite is a lead carbonate mineral that forms in the oxidized zones of lead-bearing ore deposits. The Flux Mine is a classic Arizona locality known for producing distinctive "jackstraw" cerussite crystals as seen in this specimen.

The specimen is almost completely covered by intergrown bladed and prismatic cerussite crystals, many displaying bright reflective faces and a striking adamantine to vitreous luster.
