A beautiful almandine garnet specimen from Stapfenalm, Stilluptal, Zillertal, Tyrol, Austria. This classic Alpine specimen features a rich cluster of well-formed garnet crystals covering the matrix, with colors ranging from deep reddish-brown and burgundy to warm orange-red where the crystals catch the light.

The numerous lustrous, sharply defined crystals create an attractive three-dimensional surface, while the contrasting pale and micaceous matrix highlights the garnets' rich coloration. Several crystals show attractive translucency, particularly around their edges and under stronger illumination.

The specimen is mounted on a clear acrylic display base and has passed through the collections of Steve Potvin and Gawan Fiore.
