Tourmaline (variety Elbaite), Verhindo, Minas Gerais, Brazil

This Elbaite tourmaline is a nice dark green shade and somewhat translucent. The crystal has split into multiple terminations and may have undergone partial resorption yielding the rounded tips.  Note the minor pink lepidolite mica is also attached near the bottom of the piece. Mounted on a glass base. Likely from the late 1980s. Ex Mike Menzies collection. From Verhindo, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Dimensions: 4.5 cm long
