Tourmaline variety Dravite, Yinnietharra Mine, Australia

We have come across an old stash of these modern classics from Australia. This locality was quite active in the 1970s-1980s when a mining engineer set these aside but were forgotten until now. This is a doubly-terminated crystal showing a few contact points with minor attached muscovite and quartz; well-defined crystal faces on all sides. Glassy luster and nice honey-brown to brown colour with translucency along its edges. From the Yinnietharra Mine, Western Australia, Australia. Dimensions: 3.5 x 4.5 x 5.5 cm tall
