Topaz on Rhyolite, Maynard Claims, Thomas Range, Utah

I have seen many topaz crystals from the Thomas Range in Utah but finding larger crystals combined with a larger piece of matrix, like this one, is less common. This specimen has a nice grouping of champagne-coloured topaz crystals displaying a variety of termination habits. The cluster is nicely centred on vuggy matrix composed of rhyolite (a volcanic rock). All the topaz crystals are free of any damage and are very lustrous. Mounted on an acrylic base.
