Topaz on Cleavelandite, Brazil

Light blue topaz nicely perched on cleavelandite feldspar blades. There is a light sprinkling of muscovite or, perhaps sericite, mica on one side of the specimen including the topaz. One side of the topaz is sharp with well-defined crystal edges and a nice termination while the other shows evidence of natural etching making for an intruding specimen. Ex Arkenstone and Ex Mike Menzies collection. This is a showy matrix piece that Mike did not want to part with! Dimensions: 7 x 8 cm. The topaz crystal is 2.5 cm long.
