Sphalerite & Calcite on Dolomite, Colorado

Large sphalerite crystal aggregate surrounded by calcite crystals on a bed of dolomite. The calcites are well-formed with good crystal faces and no damage. Additionally, the calcites turn a nice shade of red when exposed to long wave (365nm) ultraviolet light. I feel this is a really good combination piece where all three minerals are well-represented, with the sphalerite a stand-out based on size alone. Ex Barbara Smith collection (Victoria, BC, Canada).
