Scapolite - Handeni, Tanzania

An attractive yellow scapolite crystal from Handeni, Tanzania, displaying well-defined crystal form and strongly striated faces. The crystal shows evidence of natural etching, adding interesting texture and character to the surface. Its warm yellow colour ranges from pale, translucent areas to richer golden tones toward the termination.
A particularly appealing feature of this specimen is its strong fluorescence under ultraviolet light. A fine miniature example of scapolite from this well-known Tanzanian locality. Mounted in a perky box.
