Of the endless varieties of quartz, this is easily my favourite! Halloysite is a rather boring clay mineral but, in this case, is the cause of the yellow tips in "Mango Quartz". Specimens of any size are eye-catching and very attractive. This is a nice miniature, showing a spray of quartz crystals radiating out from a central point. The crystals are lustrous and sharp with no damage. There is evidence of recrystallization on some of the crystals forming the base and there is minor limonite on the underside of the piece.
