Pyromorphite, Little Giant Mine, Mullen, Idaho

When one hears "Idaho pyromorphite", the Bunker Hill Mine rightfully comes to mind as a world-class locality (and we will be offering many this year). However, the lesser know Little Giant Mine yielded many attractive specimens too, including this large sample. The lustrous apple green of these micro-crystals really stands apart from the orange and yellow overtones of Bunker Hill. Very attractive with great contrast to the dark brown matrix. From Little Giant Mine, Mullen, Idaho. Dimensions: 6 cm x 9 cm (largest crystal is approx 20 mm).

We recently purchased a sizeable collection from the estate of the late Garry Kolodinsky. Among several suites of minerals Garry focused on, Idaho and French pyromorphites were near the top of the list. We hope to list many pieces in the coming months.
