Pyrolusite, Gremmelsback, Black Forest, Germany

Of the two German pyrolusites we are offering, this is the larger of the pair. Both have multiple, radiating sprays of crystals with excellent luster. German pyrolusites have better pedigree and style the more common Moroccan material, which is evident in this piece. Another manganese-bearing mineral, manganite, is likely also present on this specimen but not confirmed. Recently acquired from Edward Loye of the United Kingdom.
