Pyrite with Quartz, Spruce Claims, King County, Washington, USA

These are Pacific NW classics and are still trickling out of King County. The Spruce Claims have been slowly yielding incredible pyrite with quartz combinations for decades now. This example is a large, partial pyritohedron of pyrite with a few attached quartz crystals for extra flair. Most pyrite from Spruce Claims have tectonic fractures and rarely seem to be complete like our example here. Nevertheless they make for impressive display specimens. Ex Garry Kolodinsky.
