Very rare petrified wood slice (polished) showing azurite (dark blue), malachite (green), chrysocolla (light blue), volborthite (yellow) and cuprite (red), in addition to the typical gem silica replacement of the original wood. The wood is a white pine but the term "Colla Wood" has been coined to popularly name the material stemming from the chrysocolla present in many specimens. The petrified wood is found over a copper deposit in Turkey with only a few pieces showing this unique replacement with copper minerals (not every slice shows colourful mineralization!). This is our best example showing all the minerals in a single piece of good size. Possibly of Miocene age. Zile, Tolkat Province, Turkey. Dimensions: 11 x 15 cm
