Paronychodon (meaning "beside claw tooth") is mostly known through its distinctive teeth; a complete skeleton has yet to be found. Its distinctive teeth have long, parallel groves running the length of the tooth, usually without any serrations like our example. This paronychodon tooth hails from the Jason Phipps Ranch in Garfield County, southwest of Jordan, Montana within the Upper Cretaceous Hell Creek Formation. It is 1.3 cm (0.5") long with part of the root preserved which is not common. I love these small theropod teeth and find they are more rare than the larger (and more popular) large theropod teeth. This is a beautiful example. Dimensions: 1.3 cm long x 0.5 cm wide. SOLD
