Native Copper, Ray Mine, Pinal County, Arizona

Another American classic mineral specimen and locality: copper from the Ray Mine in Arizona. This is a mostly flat plate of native copper crystals of various habits. The red metal appears to have filled-in gaps within a brecciated (fragmented) matrix. Most of the specimen is pure copper though and has nice heft and presence which would make a nice addition to any collection. Ex Paul Piovoso collection. From Ray Mine, Pinal County, Arizona.
