Heterogenite, Star of the Congo Mine, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo

We have a superb heterogenite, which is an oxidized cobalt mineral. Our specimen has a coating of chrysocolla (and malachite?) on one side but this black beauty does not need colour to stand out. The globular structure of hetergenite along with its shiny luster make for an attractive specimen. From Star of the Congo Mine, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo. Dimensions: 6 cm x 6.5 cm
