Here is a mineral we rarely see or hear about: Harmotome. This is a rare barium zeolite and we have an excellent specimen from Strontian, Scotland. Proudly perched, the main harmotome crystal is almost 1 cm long and perfectly terminated with no damage. A few other white harmotome crystals are in association and are nicely contrasted with the orange calcite on which they sit (the calcite fluoresces under UV light as a bonus). Our specimen was formerly in the Scottish mineral collection of the Royal Scottish Museum as evidenced by the accompanying labels. A quality specimen with pedigree. From Middleshop Quarry, Strontian, Loch Sunart, Argyll, Scotland. Dimensions: 4.5 cm x 5.5 cm x 5.5 cm
