Giant Amethyst Crystal (16" long), Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

Wow! We are offering what may be the largest amethyst crystal ever discovered in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada! I know that is quite the claim but this recently unearthed treasure is 65 cm in circumference, weighs 62 lbs and is approximately 16" long! On top of all of that, the termination is very sharp with terrific colour! We are providing preliminary photographs here as well as field-collection pictures. The photos only show the crystal shortly after power-washing with no other cleaning techniques yet applied. We are offering this on behalf of the miner who spent 40 hours on his hands and knees in a space no wider than his shoulders, digging out the red clay floor out, 3 feet down, to discover this beast at the end of a 50 foot vug. Now that is dedication! We promise to provide more photographs soon. We will be offering a sister specimen to this monster too, which is a cluster of large crystals from the same cavity.
