Fluorite on Tourmaline (variety Foitite), Erongo, Namibia

Two large (up to 2.5 cm) fluorite crystals attached to a naturally-etched tourmaline crystal (variety foitite). The fluorites have a complex colouration first appearing purple but with a greenish cast upon closer inspection. The purple tends to be on the edges of the crystals creating a bit of a zonation. There is a very light dusting of fibrous tourmaline on the fluorites as well, giving them a silky appearance. An attractive specimen mounted on an acrylic base. Ex Mike Menzies collection.
