A striking combination specimen from Shengus, along the Gilgit-Skardu Road in Pakistan, featuring pale fluorite and quartz associated with a prominent black schorl tourmaline crystal.
The specimen is dominated by a large, lustrous schorl crystal displaying strong vertical striations characteristic of tourmaline and a broad, flat termination. Along its lower portion, delicate pale lavender fluorite and clear to white quartz crystals provide an attractive contrast against the deep black schorl. The combination of colour, lustre and contrasting crystal habits gives the specimen excellent visual balance.
Mounted on a clear acrylic display base. This specimen comes with documented provenance from the collection of Mike Menzies, an author known for his mineralogical articles in Mineralogical Record and Rocks & Minerals.
