Another large cabinet-sized specimen from Garry Kolodinsky's giant collection of fluorites. Garry had a soft-spot for Illinois fluorites (who can blame him?) and he had many terrific examples. This piece showcases mainly light yellow and colourless fluorite on a matrix of sphalerite. The fluorite crystals are not razor sharp but still show well-defined edges but with some cleaves and knicks. Colour zoning is apparent upon close inspection but not immediately obvious. The sphalerite is crudely crystallized and mainly on the opposite side to the fluorite. From Cave-in-Rock district, Hardin County, Illinois. Dimensions: 6.5 cm x 8 cm x 10.5 cm
