Fluorite on Quartz, Canton Uri, Switzerland

Combinations of peachy-pink fluorites on quartz from the Alps are highly sought after and rare indeed. Seemingly more rare are nice affordable specimens like this one which will not break the bank (larger specimens trade in the thousands of dollars). Here we have a small fluorite (1 x 1 cm) with good colour but with crystals edges that are not razor sharp. There is no damage to the fluorite so I suspect there was some natural resorption and etching of the crystal in the pocket in which it grew. About half of the bed of quartz crystals, that the fluorite lays on, shows the classic luster Swiss specimens are renowned for. Small but very cute and eye-catching specimen.
