Nice gemmy, emerald-green fluorite cubes on matrix with scattered galena crystals. Green fluorite from the Rogerley Mine is famous for its daylight fluorescence, turning a deep purple-blue. Exposure to ultraviolet light elicits a strong response as well. These fluorites impress everyone with these optical phenomena! I should further note that the tiny galena, unlike the sharp fluorite crystals, are quite rounded as they were partially-resorbed by natural fluids when these minerals were forming. Ex Steve Potvin collection. From: Rogerley Mine, Weardale, County Durham, England Dimensions: 7 cm x 8 cm
