Fluorite, Cave-in-Rock district, Hardin County, Illinois

With a recent acquisition, Rocky Mountain Minerals now has a significant inventory of world-wide fluorites. In particular, we have a large assortment of fluorites from Hardin County, Illinois with spectacular colours and colour-zoning.

This example is one of our very best. Note the excellent tri-colour zoning and razor-sharp edges of the fluorite the Hardin district is famous for. The crystals are very "gemmy" with terrific glassy luster. There is one minor nick, however, on one of the larger crystals but does not distract from the overall beauty of this piece.
