I love offering unique and special minerals and this piece is an excellent example. This chrysocolla specimen is best described as a colloform (cauliflower-like) crust and is light-weight for its size. The colour and form remind me of coral from a tropical locale! Very beautiful indeed! An old hand-written note states this piece is from the Kalukuluku Mine which helps date the age of the specimen. The mine was re-named in 1967. Ex Garry Kolodinsky collection. From L'Etoile du Congo Mine (Star of Congo Mine or Kalukuluku Mine), Lubumbashi, Haut-Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo. Dimensions: 3 cm x 8.5 cm x 11 cm
