Cavansite on Stilbite, Wagholi, India

The Wagholi quarries in India have stopped yielding cavansite of any quantity and, like many depleted localities, the only way to acquire one is through recycled specimens from older collections (like this offering). These amazing specimens are becoming more and more difficult to find; especially quality pieces without significant damage.  While most cavansite specimens show a mini cluster of fine crystals placed somewhere on matrix, this whole piece is liberally sprinkled with the surreal blue crystals. While cavansite is the star of the show here, the underlying ivory-coloured stilbite crystals are very nice: lathe-shaped with sharp terminations. Ex Garry Kolodinsky collection.
