Cavansite on Stilbite, Wagholi Quarries, Pune, Maharashtra, India

A true modern classic in the mineral world is bright blue cavansite resting on white stilbite. The surreal colour and spherical form of cavansite turns heads regardless if you know anything about minerals or not. In this example I have debated trimming off the one sphere which has been exposed, however, it shows the internal, radiating crystal structure of cavansite and is, therefore, somewhat educational. Any specimens of this material on the market are from recycled collections as nothing new has come from Wagholie in quite some time. From: Wagholi Quarries, Pune, Maharashtra, India.
