Carrollite, Kambowe, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo

I have a soft spot for metallic minerals and carrollite ranks in my top five. Extremely rare until Chris Gobin started bringing world-class specimens in from Katanga in the last 20 years. Although still rare, now you can purchase a super star specimen for a reasonable price. Our single crystal offered here is a great example with sharp faces and interesting striations, showing a contact on the back where it was removed from its calcite matrix.
