Calcite (stellate), Java, Indonesia

From the large collection of stellate (star-like) calcite crystals of Steven Potvin here in Calgary. This piece has slender and sharp calcite crystals radiating out from several points. Very showy in person and has wonderful green phosphorescence under exposure to long-wave UV light! This specimen was from a handful Steve cherry-picked from a few tons of material. The prospect is now abandoned so there are only a handful of these spectacular calcites around. From Sukabumi City, Java, Indonesia. Dimensions: 7 x 9 x 11 cm
