Barite, Miraflores Mina, Huanuco Province, Peru

We have two of these nice barite rosettes from Peru, with this specimen being the larger one. The crystal is impressive with its complex termination and faces. My 8 year old son calls this the "Minecraft" crystal for those who understand the reference to the video game. The parabolic nature of the crystal definitely makes for a challenging photography subject! The yellow-green colour is somewhat frosted except on the edges of each crystal. Very interesting crystallography. Other unidentified species present. From Miraflores Mina, Huanuco Province, Peru. Dimensions: 5 cm x 6 cm x 10 cm, with the main crystal 5 cm x 5.5 cm
